Dry Land Water Workshop

April 14, 2017 @ 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

Dry Land Water Workshop

Workshop and Individual Training Sessions

The dry land water workshops and individual training sessions are focused on the skills needed for PWDCA water trial competitions. The workshop on Saturday, April 15, is geared toward the beginning title levels training good foundation skills, while the Sunday, April 16, workshop is focused on more advance skills for higher titling levels.

The workshops and training sessions are open to both members and non-members. Discounted entry fees are available to club members.

Dates: April 14 – 16, 2017

Healthy non-aggressive dogs over six months old may participate. Dogs must be comfortable waiting in a crate for their turn to play. To better indulge and appreciate the learning relationship, please limit yourself to one dog per handler for each session.

The individual training sessions and workshops will be taught by Lauren McDermott, a trainer, educator and water trial judge.

About the Instructor

Lauren has been training PWDs for water work since 1993. She has earned the CWDX with five Portuguese Water Dogs, and a Courier title with one more. She has offered water workshops around the country using positive reinforcement training methods. As a water trial judge for over 11 years, she has had a “front row seat” watching many hundreds of successful and nearly successful performances.
