July 2024 Deep Lake Water Trial

July 20 @ 8:00 am July 22 @ 5:00 pm

PNWPWDC Deep Lake water trial will be held July 20-22, 2024 at Nolte State Park, Enumclaw, WA.

We are pleased to welcome Judge Alan Reisdorf to our club!

The weekend consists of two trials – Sunday and Monday July 21 and 22. Depending on entries, the Sunday trial format may be changed to one trial over two days, with one or more classes being run Saturday afternoon July 20 to accommodate the overflow and provide trial opportunity for as many teams as possible. That decision will be made well before the trial close date.

This multi-day water trial will be held in accordance with the provisions of the current Portuguese Water Dog Club of America (PWDCA) water trial manual and updates, copies of which may be downloaded at no charge from the PWDCA website.

The schedule will be posted as available.

Megan Dhaliwal has volunteered to serve as trial committee chair. Stevie Viaene has volunteered as trial Secretary.

Event premium is available on PerfDog. Entries open Sunday, June 2, 2024 at 10am PDT. This trial is a lottery entry, find more details in the premium.

Entries open Sunday, June 2, 2024 at 10am PDT. Lottery Entry Deadline is Sunday, June 16, 2024 at 11:59pm PDT. The trial closes on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 11:59pm PDT.

Volunteering and Practice Session

Volunteers are essential to holding a water trial, and we greatly appreciate everyone who helps make our trials run smoothly. It’s also a great opportunity for those new to the sport to learn more about water trials and how they work. Volunteering in advance lets us plan the run order and schedule to minimize conflicts.

There will be a practice session on Saturday, July 20 in the morning following site set-up around (around 9 AM until 1 PM). This practice session is open only to those who complete the volunteer form. Practice times will be assigned by lottery with the same lottery opening and closing dates as the trial, so be sure to complete your practice entry/volunteer form before June 16.

Hospitality and On-site Group Dinner

We will provide a few light snacks and beverages. No lunch is available on site–please plan accordingly. A
group Judge’s dinner will be held on site on Sunday after the trial. All are welcome — please sign up in advance. Suggested donation is $8, payable when you sign up for dinner.

Accommodations

Summer is a very busy time of year. If you think you want to attend the trial and need overnight accommodations, please make your reservations ASAP. You can cancel if you end up not needing them, but space may not be available if you wait.

Camping

Kanaskat-Palmer state park is nice but fills very rapidly. https://parks.state.wa.us/527/Kanaskat-Palmer

Another option is the RV park at the Enumclaw Expo center. Facilities are not luxe, but it’s right at the Expo center with easy access to town and the trial site.
